Sitter:
'In dutch emblematic and popular literature maids were often represented in thier subservient role and as a threat to the hnor and security of the home, the centre of durtch life, being considerd the most dangerous women of all.'
Background wall:
'Thelime plastered walls were not only aprreciated for thier aesthetic qualities, but for thier hygenic function which was necessary for the production of cheese and beer. '
